Problem - Process - Praise (Where is Your Focus?)
Sunday Mar 10, 2024
Sunday Mar 10, 2024
In our sermon today, Pastor Anthony compares the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1 and how David is feeling in Psalm 13. In both of these stories we see the humanity of our characters as they deal with the troubles of life. In this short Psalm, David feels like God had forsaken him (vs. 1 & 2), and so he cries out to the Lord (vs. 3 & 4). This ultimately leads him to praise the Lord for His faithfulness (vs. 5 & 6). The same is true of Hannah in 1 Samuel. Hannah's heart is downcast which causes her to cry out to the Lord. Once the Lord speaks to her through Eli, her heart and countenance changes and she chooses to praise the Lord. Pastor Anthony reminds us that it is ok to be downcast and down, but in those moments, it is critical that instead of turning away from the Lord, we cry out to him. That change of perspective changes everything. So, what are you focusing on?

Choose Life - With Your Actions
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
In our sermon today, Jeremiah shares with us from 1 Samuel 24. In this story, David has the opportunity to take the life of King Saul in a cave. David refuses and, instead, chooses to give life; even to the man that is seeking to kill him. David's actions reflect the attitude of his heart. Does ours? Are we choosing life by the things we say and do? Let's listen to this sermon from God's Word.

Are You Thirsty? ("Jesus and the Samaritan Woman")
Sunday Feb 25, 2024
Sunday Feb 25, 2024
In our sermon today, we discuss the question, "Are You Thirsty?" What are you trying to satisfy your thirst with? Pastor Anthony speaks from John 4 describing the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. In this conversation, Jesus reveals for the first time that He is, indeed, the Messiah. Why? Because she needs to know that He is the only one that can satisfy her thirst. And He is the only one that can satisfy yours and mine as well. Let's listen to this sermon from God's Word...

Watch Your Words!
Sunday Feb 18, 2024
Sunday Feb 18, 2024
In today's sermon, Pastor Anthony shares from James 3. As we think through our lives, how many times have we hurt others with what we said? James reminds us of the power of our words. Jesus also reminds us that our words are really just an overflow of our heart. So, when we speak, we are reflecting the condition of our hearts. Pastor Anthony encourages us to be slow to speak, and to "speak life" to others this week. Let's listen to this sermon from the book of James...

Pray, Grow, Love, Commit #4 - (Unity is Everything)
Tuesday Feb 06, 2024
Tuesday Feb 06, 2024
In the final sermon of our "Pray, Grow, Love, Commit" series, Pastor Anthony shares with us on the power of unity. As Jesus was spending his last moments with his disciples before being taken to be crucified, he prays. He prays not only for them, but for us as well. In his prayer for us, he could have asked for anything. But instead of asking for blessings or protection from the world or many other things, he chose to pray that we would "be one." If unity is that important to Jesus and the Father, then it should be important to us as well. Let's listen to this powerful sermon from God's Word.

Sunday Jan 28, 2024
Sunday Jan 28, 2024
As Pastor Anthony is away, Brian fills in. In today's sermon, he shares with us more on New Life's vision for 2024 - "Choose Life." As he shares a word study on each word of the vision, he lets us know that we, as individuals, have the opportunity each day, each moment, to make a choice. Moses implores the children of Israel, and God is imploring each of us today, to choose life. Let's listen to this sermon from God's Word.

Pray, Grow, Love, Commit #3 - (Be A River)
Sunday Jan 21, 2024
Sunday Jan 21, 2024
As we continue with our initial sermon series of the year, Pastor Anthony talks about Love. God is love and he means for us, as believers, to be conduits of that love to the world around us. God means for us to live our lives in such a way that it constantly points others to Him; His character, His nature, His truth, and His gospel. Just like Matthew 5:16 says, we are to always: "Let [our] light[s] shine before men, that they may see [our] good works, and glorify [our] Father which is in heaven." Let's listen to Pastor Anthony as he shares with us this powerful truth...

Pray, Grow, Love, Commit #2- (Drink, Drink, Drink)
Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Sunday Jan 14, 2024
Continuing with our annual sermon series at the start of each new year, Pastor Anthony draws our attention to 1 Peter 2:1-3 in which Peter is encouraging believers to do 2 things: 1) Lay aside the sins of malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and all evil speaking; and 2) desire the pure milk of the word. Both of these are absolutely essential for the believer to be able to grow. So, in order to grow, God wants us to drink, drink, drink. Let's listen to this powerful sermon on growing.

Pray, Grow, Love, Commit #1 - (Make Prayer a Priority)
Sunday Jan 07, 2024
Sunday Jan 07, 2024
As we begin with our first sermon of 2024, we enter our yearly "Pray, Grow, Love, Commit" series. Mel brings our sermon today as we focus on the aspect of prayer. Prayer is simply communication with God and is as vital to the believer as breath is to humans. As we spend daily time with our heavenly Father, our focus should shift from our need to "hear" from God and Him answering our prayers to simply wanting to be near Him and spend time with Him. That is truly what is most necessary, not just "getting an answer." Let's listen to this powerful sermon by Mel...

Vision Sunday 2023/2024 - ”Choose Life”
Sunday Dec 31, 2023
Sunday Dec 31, 2023
In the last Sunday of 2023, Pastor Anthony encourages us all to both look back at what the Lord did last year and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us as individuals and as the larger body of Christ in 2024. The theme for New Life in 2024 is, "Choose Life." Our passage comes from Deuteronomy 30:11-20 where Moses is talking to the Israelites right before they cross the Jordan River into the promised land. He is reminding them, and us today, that every day is a decision day for us all. Our choices are simple: life and death, blessing and cursing. Now, what will you choose? Let's listen to this powerful sermon from God's Word...
