Make Lemonade

New Life welcomed Brian Russell ( a New Life Elder) as he spoke 5.3.15. Brian used a strong object lesson to teach us that when the troubles of life come how we respond makes all the difference. When life gives you lemons make lemonade.

Peter Prayed For

 Pastor Daniel finished up our sermon series, "Living...Peter", as we focused in on the power of prayer as we see it used by the early church in Acts 12 as Peter is miraculously freed from prison.

We were encouraged to pray:
-immediately
-intentionally, and
-faithfully

Welcome All

Daniel continued our Living...Peter Series by examining the greatest transition in the history of Christianity. In Acts 10 the story is recorded how God opened up salvation to all peoples, not just the Jews. In this story we are reminded of how we should welcome everyone into relationships regardless of background, personality, life, look, or anything else. 4.19.15

What About Jesus

Daniel continued our series, "Living...Peter", by focusing in on the day of Pentecost and looking now at some things that Peter did well since he had been changed by Jesus death and resurrection. 
After discussing some background info on the Jewish audience Peter preached to that day, Daniel "stole Peter's sermon outline" and delivered a message to us with the same central question: "What are you going to do with Jesus?"
You must decide either that he was a crazy person, OR that he is who he said he is. And if you believe he is the Son of God, then you must give him authority in your life. These are ultimately the only options.

Pastor Anthony focused in on John 13 when Jesus washed the disciples feet. We were challenged to follow Jesus' example by humbly serving those both inside and outside the church. However, we were also challenged to be like Peter by humbly allowing Jesus to minister to us and wash away our sin on a daily basis.

Definition in the Invitation

Pastor Daniel kicked off our new sermon series, "Living...Peter" as he addressed what it means to be a real disciple of Jesus. We spent some time breaking down Matthew 4:19:

"Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

We were reminded that though this was Peter's call to be a disciple, it is likewise a call to each of us to follow Peter's example of commitment to Christ.
