Pursuing the Mind of Christ - (A Lesson from Proverbs)
Sunday Feb 02, 2025
Sunday Feb 02, 2025
What does it mean to pursue the "mind of Christ?" How do we do that? In today's sermon, Jeremiah uses the book of Proverbs to describe some of the building blocks of that process. The first step to having the mind of Christ comes when we have a right relationship with Him. We recognize who God is and who we are in response to that. Then, we need to get in the Word and learn from what it says. Lastly, we need to more than read, we need to obey it. Only then can we start the never-ending journey of knowledge and wisdom that Christ has called us to in pursuing Him. Let's listen to today's sermon and see what God's Word says to all of us!

Sunday Jan 19, 2025
Sunday Jan 19, 2025
Love - what a loaded word. It's a word that is used in so many ways and for so many things. We love cookies, we love our animals, we love the color blue. Is that the same word to describe the love of God, or the love we should show one another? Let's take a look at how we can love according to the Word. Let's go to the Word and walk through what the Lord has to say about love from 1 Corinthians 13.

Fresh Start Series #2 ("Can We Grow and How?")
Sunday Jan 12, 2025
Sunday Jan 12, 2025
Let's ask ourselves, "Can we really grow?" Are we as people really capable of growth? If we look at our life, as well as the lives of others, the answer, more often than not, isn't encouraging. The truth is, outside of the Lord, true growth is impossible. In Christ, change and growth is not only possible, but it is the by-product of relationship...if we yield. If we become so desperate to see His face, there is nothing left but to grow as a result. Let's take a look at the Word and see what this means and how this would look for us personally...

Fresh Start Series #1 ("How Do We Pray? - Jesus' Example")
Sunday Jan 05, 2025
Sunday Jan 05, 2025
Prayer is such a simple, and yet difficult practice. How do we pray properly? Should we sit? Should we stand? Should we kneel? Prayer takes practice, intention, and effort when done correctly, but what should we say? Do the words we say matter as much as we think they do? We seem to treat prayer as if we and God are just ships passing one another in the night. Not only do we tend to think our deeds for God are more important then our communion with God, we spout words randomly at him instead of stopping to focus directly on him and having a two-way conversation. Yes, we need to look to God, but what would happen if we actually slowed down to look at him face to face? Let's look at the Word and see what God has to say about how we should pray...

Advent - Week 4 ("Love Is More Than a Feeling")
Sunday Dec 22, 2024
Sunday Dec 22, 2024
There is so much to the word "love." There are so many ways to love one another. However, it seems that we stop short of the depth that love can take us. We tend to love selfishly instead of selflessly. How can one thing such as love transform so much in so many ways? Let's look at what the Word has to say about what love really is and how deep it can change us to love authentically. . .

Sunday Dec 15, 2024
Sunday Dec 15, 2024
So, what is joy? Is it a positive emotion or an important ingredient for our baked goods? Once upon a time, many lifetimes ago, it involved a pink rose and a pope. So, how in the world do we connect any of this with the Lord? Let's take a look at the Word and see how the Lord can tie all of this together to help us understand what joy really is and how we can have real, lasting, and authentic joy.

Sunday Dec 08, 2024
Sunday Dec 08, 2024
In our second week of Advent, Evan brings us a message about peace. So, what does it actually mean to have peace? There are so many areas where having peace is important. Peace with God, peace with each other, and peace with yourself. The peace that comes from God is the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding. It's also peace that is transferable from person to person . Let's look at the Word to see what God has to say about peace.

Normal Christianity
Sunday Nov 10, 2024
Sunday Nov 10, 2024
To walk with the Lord is to walk like the Lord. How do we love to the point where we walk in the sacrificial way that the Lord walked in so well? How do we dig deeper, speak truth, and be the light and salt to a world that desperately needs to know the transformative love of the Savior? Let's take a look at what scripture has to say about what normal Christianity should look like. . . . .

Lifestyle Evangelism - How Should This Look?
Sunday Nov 03, 2024
Sunday Nov 03, 2024
He is the vine and we are the branches, so all we have to do is abide, right? What does it look like to abide? When we truly love the ones around us, it should be with gentleness and respect. Especially when the Lord calls us to love the ones who may have differing lifestyles. Are we so self-righteous that we leave out the Holy Spirit and feel it is our job to correct and convict? The truth is that it is the Holy Spirit that convicts everyone, including how we should see the person instead of just the sin and lifestyle choices. Let's take a look at what the Word says about working with the Lord in the process of sharing the Gospel. . . . .

Are you a branch separated from the tree?
Sunday Oct 13, 2024
Sunday Oct 13, 2024
Branches apart from the tree are doomed to die. To abide in the Lord as well as with one another is definitely a large part of the Lord's heart. However, to love the Lord and love one another to the point that you are compelled to share His love with the ones around you is the most loving act you could do. How should we do that? Let's go to the Word and see what the Lord says this should look like . . . . .
