SHARING in the Ministry

Martin Luther, the great reformer, said, "There are 3 conversions necessary for the Christian; conversion of the heart, mind, and purse." The Bible talks a lot about finances and what God expects us to do with the blessings that He bestows upon us. As we end our study of Philippians this week, Paul is commending the Philippian church for their generosity towards him. In their giving, they are partners with him in the ministry, and therefore, they also share in the results of God's work through Paul.

For Us, For Others #6 - Clean for a Purpose

In the 6th sermon of our "For Us, For Others" series, Pastor Daniel takes us to Titus 2:11-14. In this passage, we discover that God has shown us the grace, mercy and love through the gospel for a reason. God has saved (cleaned) us "ON PURPOSE." What is the point of salvation for all of us? He didn't just "clean us" to have a bunch of "clean" people running around. What is that purpose? Let's listen to what God has to tell us through His Word.

In this passage, the early church has "exploded" and thousands of people are becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. They are meeting daily in people's homes, breaking bread and experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit to work miracles. These are truly awesome times! For Us, For Others #4 - Are You Greedy?

In our 4th sermon of the "For Us, For Others" series, Pastor Anthony takes us to Luke 12:13-21, in which Jesus deal with covetousness and greed. In our society today, we look down on certain types of sin, while justifying or making little of others. But the fact is, greed is a big problem with us as human beings, whether we have a little or have a lot. Jesus, in this passage, let's us know that God is concerned with our heart, and what we do with what He has given us (little or much). It's all God's, anyways. So, the question is, "What will we do with what He has blessed you with?" Will you big bigger barns, or give away what you have? Let's listen to this important topic and see what His Word says to us all...

In the third sermon of our "For Us, For Others" series, Pastor Daniel encourages us to stop trying to mix the ideologies of the world and of God. They will never mix, but will only cause confusion and strife in our lives. God has given us a message and we are meant to be an example of what it means to "be like Jesus." For Us, For Others #2 - Be Salt and Light

In the second sermon of our new series, "For Us, For Others," Pastor Anthony reminds and encourages us to do what Jesus says in Matthew 5 - be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world." Not so that we can draw attention to ourselves, but to draw attention to Jesus and give Him glory. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is reminding us of the characteristics that true followers of Him should have, what we should be like. So, the question is, are we being the true salt and light that we need to be to a world lost in darkness and without flavor? Let's examine ourselves and listen to this powerful sermon.

Fresh Start #4 - Partnership

In the last sermon of our "Fresh Start" series, Pastor Daniel discusses our roles as the body of Christ together in the local church. In 1 Thessalonians 5:9-14, we are instructed to "encourage one another and build one another up." Why? Verse 9 says God has destined us obtain salvation. It's for the sake of the gospel that God has put us together. We all have a role to play, a purpose, and we need to all be about that for Him and for each other. We need to partner together and stay "on mission" for Him. Let's listen to this powerful message on partnership.

Fresh Start #3 - ”How do we Grow? - Read Your Bible”

In the third sermon of our "Fresh Start" series, Pastor Daniel encourages us to simply "Read Your Bible." Do you want to grow? Then the answer can be as simple, or complex, as that. Whether you are a brand-new believer, or a long-follower of Jesus, there are some steps that anyone can take to grow in their relationship with God. They are,

1a) Read your Bible for yourself daily (1 chapter)

1b) Read your Bible with your family (1 chapter)

2) Think about what the Bible is saying for you and those around you

3) Memorize the Bible so the Holy Spirit has something to remind you about when you need it.

4) Study the Bible (using Commentaries, Studies, etc.)

5) Disciple/Teach/Encourage others to do the same thing
